This story is simple and sad. A plane filed with happy skydivers on a flight back home from a weekend of doing what they loved best, jumping out of airplanes and parachuting safely to the ground. But this flight home would take a tragic turn. It would cause all of their untimely deaths. A sudden end, which gave them no chance to jump out of this airplane, to jump another day. If they could, they no doubt would have tired. It's what they loved, trained and knew how to do.

ERS News can report exclusively that the pilot of the airplane that crashed in Washington, killing all on board, Philip Kibler of Troy NY was issued his initial US pilots license on the basis of a foreign pilot's license. His foreign pilot's license was issued in Canada, according to FAA pilot's records reviewed by the "Enterprise Report." This procedure means he did not actually receive his initial American pilots license based on his pilot training here in the United States. Kibler was a relatively new pilot, he obtained his US private pilots license in 2002 and an additional commercial pilots license in December of 2003.

Pilot info

ERS News has also obtained these photos of the plane that disappeared off radar last Sunday night on a flight from Idaho back to its base of operations in the state of Washington. The plane. a Cessna 208B, known as a "Grand Caravan", was operated by Kaposi Air Sports a sky diving firm based in Washington. The fatal crash was near the edge of the Cascade Mountains in Washington. According to published reports the skydivers aboard were all part of a skydiving operation called "Skydive Snohomish" which trains and operates skydiving flights.

Why and how it happened is now under investigation. The NTSB, which leads all air crash investigations in the U.S. is just beginning to look into the causes of this deadly accident. What ERS News can report with a good measure of certainty, having extensive aviation reporting experience, is that whatever the first media reports of causes and possible reasons for the crash, they will usually in time prove to be wrong. Airplane accidents take time to investigate; especially ones where all aboard were killed and there are no eyewitnesses present to provide crucial clues as to what may have gone so terribly wrong.

The 10 victims have been identified they are: Casey Craig, of Bothell, WA; Rasberry, 24, of Bellingham, WA, Michelle Barker, 22, of Kirkland WA; Landon Atkin, 20, of Snohomish WA; Ross, 28, of Snohomish WA; Cecil Elsner, 20, of Lake Stevens WA; Andrew Smith, 20, of Lake Stevens, WA, Bryan Jones, 34, of Redmond, WA; Ralph Abdo, Issaquah, WA; and Phil Kibler, 46, the pilot, of Troy NY.

The Seattle Time and Seattle Post Intelligencer have the photos and details about each of the victims.
