children obesity 150x150 Children Obesity Can be Inherited From ParentsChildren obesity or overweight problem has been increased rapidly as in the WHO study (World Health Organization) report.  In 1990 the number of obese children as many as 26.9 million and in the year of 2010 its increased to 42.8 million children.

According to a report of study conducted by University of Newcastle scientists at Australia, Thursday, children who have overweight fathers has more possibility to have a body fat at eight or nine years age compared with children with normal body weight fathers.  The University of Newcaslte researchers found out that children who have obese or overweight have four times more chances to follow their father’s overweight footsteps as compared with those with fathers who have a body in the healthy category. They are also found that if they only had the mother obese or overweight with normal weight father in their families, the condition does not have same impact.

Emily Freeman, one of the lead researcher said it is still not known why the overweight fathers have such a strong impact on the weight of their children.  The scientists carried the children obesity study using real data of 3,000 families in Australia, collected between year 2004 and 2008. They examined the children body weight when they were four to five years ago and then, do examination again when they enter the age of nine and eight years.

According to Freeman, as much as 25 per cent of Australian children overweight or obese. The woman scientists said that helped the father who overweight to lose weight can make a difference for young people.
